+394
2010
‘+394’ was a work in the spirit of solidarity, inaugurated in June 2010. At a height of around 5 meters, it was placed in the courtyard of the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa. Reproducing the city’s iconic lighthouse, it was made of hundreds of wrapped ready-to-use water purification filters. Straws were made available to children to purify puddles of water, resulting in a potable quantity sufficient for 365 days. After the exhibition the filters were shipped to the Artewella Gallery in Cairo for distribution to urban areas at risk of malaria. In collaboration with the City of Genova, Artelier, Irene Lupi, and Gaetano Cunsolo.
